Vibefest_at_la_marina-12Summertime means party time. Last week it was the CoastRider’s very own Party on the Beach and this last weekend it was the turn of the La Marina Fiestas held on the urbanisation with three days of entertainment organised and laid on by Vibe FM with their VIBEFEST featuring some of the best unsigned acts from up and down the Costa Blanca. This is the third year the fiestas have been held and the location, in the Consum commercial centre is a perfect venue for such an event.  All around the edge of the open central area there are bars and restaurants where people can sit outside enjoy the entertainment and a drink and food as well when they want it, all without moving from the seats. The centre of the area was dominated by the stage with VIBE FM’s own outside broadcast unit close by from where they provided announcements and continuity as well as the perfect choice of party and dance music to get those feet tapping and moving.
Amongst the audience enjoying the atmosphere was the man with overall responsibility for organising the event, the San Fulgencio Councillor for fiestas, Mark Lewis. He was very happy with the event and I asked him about the choice of venue. “I wanted to bring the fiesta here to help all the local businesses,” he said.  He was looking forward to similar crowds as last year which had seen over 2,000 attending the fiestas which this year featured plenty for the younger members of the family as well with foam pits, bouncy castles, jousting platforms and sideshows as well as stalls selling all manner of party items like plastic swords, bubble blowing guns, character balloons and candy floss. K9 the locally based animal charity, had a stand at the fiesta and were urgently looking for donations to help with their work and people to home some of the 50 dogs they currently looking after
Vibefest_at_la_marina-4VIBE FM’s Neil Wylie was over the moon after the event, “Fantastic success,” was how he described it. “There must have been over 3,000 people every night of the three nights of the fiesta. Everything went well, the quality of the acts, the sound and with VIVA TV recording the event. It was the first time it had ever been done.”
VIBE FM has other events planned including a large golf tournament where they will be providing results and commentary alongside the music they are famous for playing. So make sure you keep in touch with them on 90.8, 91.1 and 108 FM or on the internet at www.vibespain.com
