VIDEO GAME TETRIS
has been
named the world’s most popular
mobile phone game. The application
accumulated over 100
million paid downloads since 2005.
EA Mobile, the firm which owns
the rights to the puzzle game, said
that the game had been adapted
for touch screen phones as well as
traditional mobile phone keypads.
A study last year found that people
who played Tetris regularly
increased their general efficiency
and had a thicker cortex in areas of
the brain related to critical thinking. |

Gays may be executed
Homosexual individuals would be
subject to the death penalty in
Uganda if new laws recently proposed
there come to pass.
The laws also mean that family and
friends of gay Ugandans could also
face a prison sentence of up to seven
years if they fail to report their relative
to the authorities.
Gay rights activists say the proposed
laws, which have prompted huge international
opposition, simply promote
hatred. Activists believe that the
laws are part of a continent-wide backlash
because Africa’s gay community
is becoming increasingly vocal. |
