A statement by SAMM INC’s Chief Executive
Peter Fulford this week put FC Torrevieja’s
future under speculation. Fulford apologized
for the delay in giving news about the deal,
saying, “There have been some very good
reasons behind this silence which is sadly as a
direct result of our failure to receive promised
documentation and vital information which
we need to present to our investors.
Following the recent circulation of
rumours Fulford went on to say, “Let me make
it abundantly clear in plain language that
funding is NOT an issue for SAMM INC. We
have an overall pot of 20 Million Euros
available for development, and we have
independent verification of this from a
Spanish solicitor. We have been greatly
disturbed about false statements about our
financial background made by individuals
who have absolutely no knowledge of our
circumstances and clearly are ‘mischiefmaking’.”
The Chief Executive of SAMM INC also
hinted at a possible breakdown of the deal,
citing rumour mongering and malice on the
part of certain Torry Army website users.
“Some of these postings,” he explained,
“which in effect accuse SAMM INC of behaving
in an improper way (and that is a moderate
way of calling it), have led the investors to
consider whether it is worth their time and
their resources investing substantial funds in
the club. Why should they devote their
energies to something if they are not wanted
and being rubbished for their efforts? They
have plenty of other projects they could turn
to, and in their extensive careers, they have
never come across anything at all like this.”
