Hay fever sufferers are being warned that
signs indicate that spring could see the pollen
count rise to extremely high levels. It is
believed that the mild autumn and wet
winter will create the perfect climate for
bumper pollen production, bringing misery
to hay fever and allergy sufferers. Sufferers
are being advised to visit their GPs or local
farmacia and start taking antihistamines to
minimise the affects. The warning was made
by the Allergy unit at Elche Hospital, which
said it was important that it was advisable to
take preventative measures now in order to
avoid unnecessary suffering in a month or so.
Sufferers should check with doctors that their
medication is strong enough to cope with the
high levels of pollen predicted.
