The Taller de Empleo Mediterráneo IV currently running until June of this year is giving employment to 46 people eight of whom are teachers.
The 38 students are employed in the following disciplines, joinery, home help, tiling, paving and archive work.
The joiners in previous workshops have worked on the restoration of the Latin sailing vessels donated to the municipal sailing school and this workshop is currently working on ‘El Joven Pablo’ which should be completed in the next few months.
The tillers and pavers have been working on joint projects around the town particularly in Torreta III. The home help students have carried out work with AFA, ALPE, nursing homes and in the Hospital of Torrevieja whilst the archivists are working on several projects including the cataloguing and care of the collections given by Ricardo Lafuente and Juan Aparicio López.
