Friends Unlimited, the social arm of The Help Association of Vega Baja will be returning after the groups summer break to a new home for its weekly meetings. From Thursday 1 October meetings will be held at The Club, Calle Toledo, near Quesada wwith speakers, quizzes, customised outings and a monthly ‘menu del dia’ at different local venues.
The Help Association of Vega Baja’s function is to assist in times of need and to keep people informed during these difficult times. The office in San Miguel holds various items of orthopaedic equipment for hire. There are hospital visiting teams, a friendship centre for the housebound, diabetic support group and a welfare officer. In addition, the group provides support and information to the English speaking communities from Pilar de la Horadada along the coast through Torrevieja to La Marina and inland to Albatera and Orihuela.
Donations raised from Friends Unlimited activities, goes towards maintaining the service ‘Help’ provides for the community.
