The new tramsmitter to provide
reception of the digital television
signal in Torrevieja when the analogue
service switches off in April is up and
ready to go. The aerial is sited on the
hill above Aguas Nuevas by the water
reservoir and will cover the whole of
the municipality. It has cost 80,000
euros to erect and the councillor for
new technology and foreign residents,
Pedro Valero, attended a presentation
in Finestrat also attended by the
regional Minister for Justice and public
Administration, Paula Sanchez, where
six new transmitters were switched
on. That brings the total so far in the
Valencian Community to 22. The new
digital service promises to bring
additional free channels with a better
quality picture and sound. |
